How do I get to the Longridge Showground?
Do I need to pay for parking?
No, the car park is free when purchasing tickets.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be two different entrances to the site: A) cars and minibuses only, and B) caravans, motorhomes, campervans and trailer tents only.
Are there local buses to the Festival?
Bus (route No 1) leaves from Preston Bus Station to Longridge Post Office every 10 minutes. Directions from Longridge Post Office to the campsite (the walk takes about 10 minutes):
- Head southeast on Berry Lane toward Irwell Street
- Turn left at B5269 / King Street, continue to follow B5269
- Turn right at Calfcote Lane
- Turn right at B6243 / Lower Lane
- Turn left (signposted Sign Circle)

What is included in the ticket price?
Your ticket includes camping and free use of campsite facilities from Friday 29/07/2016 to Monday 01/08/2016. Please arrive after 2pm on Friday and leave by 2pm on Monday. Your ticket also includes FREE access to all activities, workshops and evening entertainment. Meals and drinks are not included.
Can I bring my caravan?
Please note that we have to charge £25 per caravan also there is limited space for caravans. First come first served - best book your ticket and pitch as soon as you can! Please note that electric hook-ups will be shared with other caravans.
Do you have wheelchair access?
The campsite is flat as a pancake. There is a wheelchair friendly shower and toilets are accessible too.
Can I drive my car next to my tent and unload my camping gear before I park my car?
No, cars are not allowed in the camping area. You will need to park your car at the car park straight away when you arrive at the site. Then you need to carry your things to the camping area. Ask your friends or kids to help!
If you have mobility difficulties, please go to the information tent and ask for a steward to help
Please be aware that for safety reasons cars are not allowed on site. We will provide wheelbarrows for you to move your things from car to the site. You can also ask your friends to help!
If I have a weekend camping ticket can I leave the Festival and come back in?
Yes, you are allowed to leave the site any time. Just remember to keep your wrist band on at all times. If you do not have a wrist band you will not be allowed to return to the campsite
I have purchased camping tickets and would like to stay in a hotel, do you recommend any?
There are many hotels in the local area to choose. You are responsible for arranging this yourself.
I only want to come for the day. Do you sell day tickets?
Yes, we can sell day tickets!
Is Sign Circle for deaf people only?
No. Sign Circle is a camping festival open for everyone who has an interest in sign language and deaf community. We have a Communicator Team to make sure everyone feels involved.
Do we have to camp in designated camping fields
Yes. You can choose where you want to put your tent as long as you stay in the camping area. Be careful not to put your tent too close to the marked campfire spots or you will be asked to move your tent.
Is the festival suitable for toddlers?
Yes, we have always had toddlers at the festival - they love to be spoiled by our Children's Volunteers who will treat them with fun games, crafts and face painting!
How old do you have to be to go by yourself?
Under 18's must come with an adult (over 18 years old).
My child is deaf but doesn't use sign language. Are we still welcome?
Yes, you are welcome. This festival is the perfect place to develop your Sign Language skills!
If it rains, what happens to the festival? Will it still go ahead?
Yes, Sign Circle will go ahead no matter what! Our marquees are waterproof and provide shelter in case of rain. Most activities and workshops can be done indoors.
Can I bring alcohol into the Festival?
Yes, you can bring your own alcohol into the Festival
Can I allow bringing my own alcohol into Bar Tent?
No, we cannot allow you to bring your own alcohol into the bar. It is the same principle as pub rules
Can I bring in medical prescriptions? Example: Diabetic insulin
Yes, you can come to the Information tent / office to let them know and we will provide fridges for you to use
Can I bring BBQs into the campsite?
Yes, you can bring your BBQ, please take care of it and make sure it is kept away from tents and grass. Use bricks underneath. Cooking in tents is not allowed. Please see “Fire Policy”
Will my belongings be safe in the campsite?
The campsite is very safe and security staff members are always around. The same as any camping trip - only bring with you what you can afford to lose
Can we bring in our own food?
Most campers seem to enjoy cooking their own meals, but nothing stops you from getting yours from the mobile food trailers on site!
Can I bring my dog?
We love dogs! Sadly we can only allow trained assistance dogs (hearing dogs for the deaf, guide dogs for the blind and service dogs).
Is Sign Circle for UK only or can I bring my international deaf friends to come?
Everyone is welcome. We often have international deaf performers and workshop leaders at Sign Circle.
Will there be cash machines on-site?
No we don’t have any cash machines on-site but there are plenty of cash machines in Longridge village which is about a 10 min walk from the site.
Is there free water?
Yes, there are water point’s onsite which are free to use.
Will there be a Festival map?
Yes, we have the festival map onsite, we will give you a free map when you arrive at the info tent
Can I charge my phone?
Yes, we have charging points available at the Information Tent. Just remember that it is a 'left at owner's risk' area. Our volunteers will not look after your belongings.
Is food available in the campsite?
There will be mobile food trailers selling breakfast, lunch, meals and snacks for good prices. They will have a variety of choices from super healthy wraps and salads, to greasy fast food.
What facilities are there?
There are 14 showers and 12 toilets on-site with sinks to wash your dishes up
Will there be disabled facilities?
Yes there is a disabled shower and toilets on-site
When will I receive my wristband?
You will receive your wristband at the information tent on the first day of the festival
Can I slide off my wristband and give it to a friend?
Nice try! It’s not allowed. If you get caught you and your friend will be asked to leave the festival immediately
Can anyone volunteer?
Yes, anyone over 18 years old is welcome! We will check your ID when you applied for a volunteer.
I'm only BSL level 1. Can I apply as a volunteer?
Yes you can apply, however it may restrict which positions you can apply for. If you are level 1 we would suggest that you look at the volunteer page where every role is explained clearly, this will help you understand which positions you would be suitable for.
